Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has exciting an opportunity in the Manufacturing department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience as a Utilities Operator position, which is based in Nigel. The successful candidate will report directly to Plant Engineer.

To provide technical support service to the Manufacturing division by performing maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on plant equipment, in order to meet business requirements.

The successful candidate will report directly to Plant Engineer.

Key Purpose

To provide technical support service to the Manufacturing division by performing maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on plant equipment, in order to meet business requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supply hot water.
  • Solve situational problems.
  • Complete data sheets.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working area.
  • Maintain and repair machines.
  • Manage own development and performance.
  • Maintain Safety and Housekeeping standards.
  • Perform Quality test and specifications.
  • Perform and maintain the boiler operation.
  • Perform forklift operation when required.
Skills, Experience & Education
  • A minimum of a Matric and a recognized.
  • Trade Test qualification in Millwright, Electrical and Mechanical with N3 or higher.
  • 2-3 years relevant technical experience in an FMCG environment.
General Analytical thinking:

  • To analyse the relationships between events, circumstances and forces beyond the obvious and draws insightful conclusions, at a micro and macro level. Demonstrate the understanding of the inter-relationships between systems and processes and consolidate information into a coherent whole.

 Good Communication:

  • The ability to express oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others and tailors the content of speech to the level and experience of the audience.

Functional and Technical skills:

  • Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment

 Process Management

  • Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done; knows how to organize people and activities; understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow.

Problem Solving:

  • Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answers.

 Planning:

  • The ability to apply planning skills in order to, schedule activities and prioritise resources in the achievement of an objective.

 Timely Decision Making

  • Makes decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure; able to make a quick decision.
