Sumitomo Rubber South Africa (Pty) Ltd (SRSA) is a South African company that manufactures and distributes tyres under the Dunlop, Sumitomo, and Falken brands. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese-listed company Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI), headquartered in Kobe, Japan. SRSA holds the rights to use the iconic Dunlop brand throughout the African continent, a position secured by its parent company in 2013. The establishment of SRSA in 2014 was part of a strategic vision to expand the presence of Sumitomo Rubber’s innovative technology and products across Africa.

This 12-month structured programme provides participants with valuable workplace exposure, mentorship, and hands-on experience in one of South Africa’s leading tyre manufacturing companies. It is designed to empower young people with the skills and confidence to kickstart their professional journey.

About the YES Learner Programme

The YES Programme aims to boost youth employability by offering practical workplace experience. Participants will rotate across different business units, gaining skills that align with their academic qualifications and future career aspirations.

Fields of Learning

Applicants must hold a Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in one of the following fields:

• Marketing / Public Management
• Automotive / Mechanical and related fields
• Finance
• Business Management
• Administration
• Information Technology (IT)
• Environmental Health and Safety
• Supply Chain
• Human Resources (HR)
• Quality

These disciplines provide diverse entry points into various departments within the company, allowing learners to gain specialized industry experience.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

• Be unemployed South African youth.
• Be 34 years of age or younger.
• Preferably have no previous work experience.
• Not have participated in the YES Programme before.
