The Breede-Olifants Catchment Management Agency (BOCMA) is the result of the amalgamation of the Breede WMA and the Gouritz WMA. The new WMA is bounded by the Indian Ocean to the south, what will be the Berg-Olifants WMA to west, the Orange WMA to the north and the Mzimvubu-Tsitsikama WMA to the East. It largely fall within the Western Cape Province, with small portions of the upper catchment of the Olifants River falling in the Eastern Cape Province, and tiny portions of the upper catchments of the Gamka and Groot Rivers falling in the Northern Cape Province. The Breede-Gouritz WMA includes the catchment area of the Gouritz River and its major tributaries (the Gamka, Groot and Olifants Rivers), as well as the catchments of the smaller coastal rivers that lie to the east and west of the Gouritz River mouth, the Breede River and the catchments of the smaller coastal rivers that lie to the west of the Breede River mouth, i.e. the Palmiet, Kars, Sout, Uylenkraals, Klein, Onrus and Bot-Swart Rivers.

Job Overview: Receptionist (Salary Level 4)
As a Receptionist at BOCMA, you will provide secretarial, clerical, and administrative support to ensure smooth and cost-effective operations. This role is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a busy office environment.

Key Responsibilities
As a Receptionist, your responsibilities will include:
- Handling Incoming Communications: Receive and direct phone calls, emails, and fax messages to the appropriate staff members.
- Visitor Management: Greet and direct visitors professionally, ensuring they are assisted and directed to the correct person or department.
- Administrative Support: Provide general clerical support such as filing, document handling, and maintaining the office space.
- Scheduling and Meetings: Assist in preparing meetings, conferences, and managing schedules for sub-committee, board, and management meetings.
- Mail Handling: Manage incoming and outgoing mail, courier packages, and deliveries.
- Public Enquiries: Respond to general public inquiries and assist with managing staff and visitor registers.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric) with at least 2 years of proven experience working in a busy office environment or switchboard management.
- Experience: Strong background in handling administrative tasks, office management, and customer-facing roles.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of at least two official languages used in the BOCMA jurisdiction.
- Strong problem-solving skills, decision-making ability, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage stress, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of concentration.
- Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of office administration and basic office equipment management.
- A valid driver’s license will be an advantage.
