The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a statutory body and Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) in South Africa. Established under the Mine Health and Safety Act (1996), it is responsible for managing skills development, education, and training in the country’s mining and minerals sector. The MQA aims to foster transformation in the mining industry by addressing skills shortages and improving employment equity, health, and safety standards. Its work is funded by skills development levies paid by mining and minerals companies.

The MQA Internship Programme is a 24-month structured programme aimed at unemployed graduates who have never previously participated in an internship. This opportunity is open only to South African citizens.

The programme provides workplace exposure, mentorship, and practical experience in various fields to prepare interns for future employment opportunities.
