About eThekwini Municipality

EThekwini Municipality is a metropolitan municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Created in 2000, it includes the coastal city of Durban and its surrounding towns and rural areas. The Zulu word eThekwini means “ocean and bay lagoon”. The landscape features a warm, subtropical climate, extensive beaches, hilly regions, gorges, and ravines. The municipality’s composition of urban, semi-urban, and rural environments presents a challenge for sustainable development.

Job Purpose

• To provide Occupational Safety Services to all eThekwini Municipality Clusters.

Essential Requirements

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Safety Management. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) certificate completed within a minimum of 2 days. Health and Safety Auditors course completed within a minimum of 2 days.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license 3 Years relevant experience in Safety and Risk Management.  Computer Literacy.
