About eThekwini Municipality

EThekwini Municipality is a metropolitan municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Created in 2000, it includes the coastal city of Durban and its surrounding towns and rural areas. The Zulu word eThekwini means “ocean and bay lagoon”. The landscape features a warm, subtropical climate, extensive beaches, hilly regions, gorges, and ravines. The municipality’s composition of urban, semi-urban, and rural environments presents a challenge for sustainable development.

Job Purpose

• Oversee the maintenance of Council vehicles and heavy plant through the management of subordinate staff.

Essential Requirements

• Trade Tested Artisan (Earth Moving Equipment or Construction or Plant or Diesel Mechanic).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code C1). Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• 5 years relevant post trade test experience. Computer Literacy.
