The Ombud for Financial Services Providers (FAIS Ombud) is a statutory body in South Africa that provides an alternative dispute-resolution process for financial customers. The Ombud’s office investigates and resolves complaints against financial services providers (FSPs) for alleged misconduct. The FAIS Ombud resolves disputes in a procedurally fair, informal, and timely manner, based on what is equitable under the circumstances.
Description
To discharge its mandate, the FAIS Ombud seeks to appoint Graduate Trainees to the Graduate Training Programme. This is a structured programme specifically designed to produce a pipeline of competent trainees entering the labour market.
Duration
- The duration of the programme is twelve (12) months.
Roll-out of the Programme:
The recommended candidate will have the opportunity to learn under a dedicated mentor. The Graduate will be assigned to the Human Resources Department and will be exposed to various competency-based training opportunities.

Requirements
- Diploma (NQF 6) or Degree (NQF 7) in Human Resource Management or related field.
- South African citizen with a valid South African Identity document.
- Passion for public service and an interest/desire to work in the Financial Sector.
- Strong academic background and high levels of integrity.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment, willing to learn and work extra hours.
- Energetic, self-driven, and deadline driven.
- Must be computer literate.
Key Performance Areas
- Provide administrative support across all HR functions, including employee records management.
- Support recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
- Assist with ensuring HR compliance and governance requirements are met.
- Assist with the coordination and administration of training and development initiatives
- Support payroll, leave, and employee benefits administration.
- Assist with compiling and maintaining accurate HR reports and data.
