Responsibilities

The successful intern will be responsible for:

  • Receiving parcels and sorting incoming mail.
  • Circulating communication to GPS Hub staff.
  • Updating GPS Hub staff administration (telephone/birthday lists).
  • Managing visitor logs and key control.
  • Coordinating reception functions and shared venue bookings.
  • Supporting Student Affairs and CTL administrative processes.
  • Welcoming and directing visitors.
  • Providing first-line support for general GPS Hub enquiries.
  • Answering telephone and email communication.

Minimum Requirements

  • B-degree (NQF Level 7) in:
    • Office Management
    • Business Administration
    • Public Administration
    • Communications
    • Human Resources Management
  • Must be unemployed, with no previous formal work experience.
  • Must not be participating in another learnership or internship.
  • Willingness to sign an internship agreement with UFS.

Recommendations

  • Good organisational and event management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of CareerHub (Symplicity system), SharePoint, and Canva for presentations.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work under pressure and interact professionally with students and staff.
