Position Summary:

• We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Social Sciences and Life Orientation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Social Sciences and Life Orientation education, and be committed to providing high-quality instruction to students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in social sciences and life orientation to students
• Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported
• Assess students’ progress and provide timely feedback to help them achieve their academic goals
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement cross-curricular projects and initiatives
• Stay current with trends in social sciences and life orientation education and incorporate new ideas and approaches into teaching practice
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a successful learning experience for all

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Sciences, or a related field
• SACE certificate
• Previous experience teaching social sciences and life orientation at the secondary level
• Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and best practices in social sciences and life orientation education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for working with young people and helping them develop critical thinking skills and responsible decision-making abilities
