MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To transport and escort patients, equipment, files and related items between different departments of a hospital to support hospital operations in delivering the highest standards of care

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Transport and escort patients safely to a pre-determined location

Assist with evacuations during emergency situations

Execute Driver function (as per hospital request and within hospital guidelines)

Ensure integrity and confidentiality of patient rights and Mediclinic values

Required Education

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Grade 12

DESIRED EDUCATION: None

Required Experience

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Client services / Dealing with the public

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Healthcare experience (e.g. care work)

Required Job Skills And Knowledge

  • Licence with PDP
  • Patient rights charter
  • English proficiency (read; speak and write)
  • Kinetic handling principles
  • Knowledge of Medico,legal risks
  • Two,way radio systems
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Internal emergency evacuation plans
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks
  • Health and Safety Act and regulations
