Job Description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Completion Of Tasks Through The Effective Use Of Skills

  • Follow verbal or simple written work instructions
  • Ensure proper understanding of the required actions
  • Apply recognized work and safety standards
  • Ensure that facilities (Change houses, canteens, offices and ablutions)are clean and hygienic
  • Operation of all canteen and cleaning, including the laundry equipment required for role
  • Monitor that canteen and cleaning is in good running order.
  • Provide pre-packed food to the employees
  • Complete tasks specific to role to required standard
  • Co-ordinate activities with team members
  • Follow instructions from Canteen and Cleaning supervisor and report back when tasks are completed
  • Report abnormal activities or problems to Canteen and Cleaning Supervisor
  • Support the measurement of task performance through simple data collection
  • Support the Canteen and Cleaning supervisor in identifying material and ingredient requirements
  • Participate in required meetings
  • Accurately complete role administration requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve the Canteen Area and services
  • Perform tasks ensuring limited disruption to canteen customers
  • Support efforts to overcome operational problems
  • Effective two way communications with team members
  • Ensure that all required tools and material are available to complete tasks
  • Support team members if they require help
  • Assist cleaning staff ensure facilities cleanliness to standards when necessary

This role is at a B2 level reporting to the Canteen and Cleaning Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Grade 12

Experience

  • 2 Years’ experience in canteen operations and cleaning

Knowledge And Skills

  • Semi-skilled for the operation of kitchen equipment and machinery specific to role

Pre-requisite

  • Please note this is Shift work and you may be required to work overtime as and when necessary.
