It manages a vast network of 3,500 km of pipelines and 60 reservoirs.

Job Advert Summary

  • To take instructions and ensure all day-to-day maintenance work related to the Instrument trade on buildings, property, recreational arrears and residential property, including the preparation of all equipment, material and tools as well as delegation to work to the assistant is according to the Rand Water standards. To work individually and independently when instructed and take full responsibility for such work at All Rand Water sites. To ensure that all equipment is used safely and according to standards of work as determined by the Assistant Instrument Foremen/Foreman.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12/ N3 Instrumentation
  • Instrumentation Level 2
  • Safety Training will be an advantage
  • Code EB driver’s license
  • 2 years’ experience in the Instrument field

Primary Duties

  • Work independently and individually in attending to all day-to-day Instrument work.
  • Do all daily, monthly and annual scheduling instrumentation maintenance.
  • Investigate and repair all breakdowns and work on overtime when required.
  • Mange allocated section of plant/site.
  • Maintaining of work standards and ensuring legal and safety compliance.
  • Give inputs and execute plant/site improvements and modification.
  • Accept responsibility for instrumentation repairs work, installations and required decision making that will ensure plant /site reliability at all times.
  • Plan tasks to ensure that all materials, tool, assistants, transport and equipment is available.
  • Check equipment after maintenance is performed.
  • Complete all schedules, defects and paperwork, instructions etc.
  • Carry out other tasks as delegated by the supervisor from time to time.
