Job Title: Facilities Foreman – Refinery
Grade: C5
Reports To: Projects and Facilities Engineer
Department / Centre: Refinery
Main Purpose Of The Job
- Implement project and maintenance programs for site civil facilities and structures, industrial and employee spaces, fire systems, in line of SANS 10400
- Supervise contract work, projects, and repair activities to ensure compliance with standards and timelines.
- Manage the performance and training of subordinates, guiding them on procedures and resolving disputes.
- Monitor building safety systems, including ventilation, air conditioning, and emergency systems, to ensure compliance.
- Control budgets and manage contractor performance, addressing deviations and unblocking project delays.
- Prepare technical reports and asset audits, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions to the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Qualities
- Matric and Trade Test Certification through a recognized apprenticeship.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance and project management at a supervisory level.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SAP PM Module with strong project management knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to change and collaborate effectively.
- Detail-oriented and proactive, demonstrating initiative to resolve issues and avoid delays.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently and implementing actions as required.
