Job Description
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for data models, analysing, and interpreting data to provide valuable insights and drive informed business decisions. The Data Analyst designs, create and deploy enterprise-scale data analytics solutions.
The Data Analysts’ responsibility is to clean and transform data, design and build enterprise data models and incorporate advanced analytic capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (internal and external) to ensure effective implementation, set-up, utilisation and governance of the enterprise data platform across the organization.
This role contributes to the complete data function for data analytics, business intelligence, and advanced analytics, and requires a strong business focus, and the individual understands the strategy and direction of the business but focuses on how to underpin that with data.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING
- BCom or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology / Computer Science / Engineering (IT) or similar
- Data analysis tools (Azure Enterprise Data Analyst) certification will be an added advantage
- ITIL or COBIT certification will be an added advantage
REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2 – 4 years of working experience in an IT environment
- Experience in working on IT enterprise Azure-based data solutions
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query, T-SQL and visualising
- Experience in gathering requirements and transitioning them to designs and outcomes
- Experience working in the Agri sector will be an advantage

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs, define requirements, and identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive business goals.
- Design and develop data models, data pipelines, and ETL processes using, for example, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure services.
- Collect, cleanse, and transform data from various sources into usable formats for analysis and reporting.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualisations using Power BI or other Azure analytics tools to present data-driven insights to stakeholders.
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, and provide recommendations for process improvements and optimisation.
- Develop and implement data governance and data quality frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data.
- Monitor and optimise Azure resources and services to ensure efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Azure services, tools, and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on the organisation’s data strategy.
- Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
- Stay up to date with the latest data technologies, trends, and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
