We’re looking for an Energy Analyst to join a forward-thinking team in one of the leading IPPs in Cape Townpioneering their way into energy wheeling!

In this role, your technical skills, analytical expertise, and creativity will come together to design and deliver energy solutions that truly make a difference.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Analyse energy data: You’ll dive into energy meter or utility billing data to understand consumption patterns and renewable generation, working with a wide range of commercial and industrial customers.
  • Collaborate and design: Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and translate those insights into tailored renewable energy solutions that make a real impact.
  • Model and optimise: Use advanced modelling techniques to match renewable energy sources with customer demand, ensuring the best possible solution design.
  • Present and persuade: Work closely with the sales team to create compelling proposals, ensuring alignment with customer needs and objectives.
  • Work with data: Bring your expertise in data analysis to consolidate and communicate insights, helping guide key decisions in the energy transition.
  • Support the team: Assist with RFIs, RFPs, and market evaluations, as well as helping refine design processes and tools that will scale the business.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Engineering or science background: A degree in a relevant field (BEng, BSc in Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science or similar).
  • Experience: Whether you’re a fresh graduate or have up to 5 years of experience in energy or data analysis, if you have a passion for renewable energy and an analytical mindset, we want to hear from you.
  • Tech skills: Proficiency with software like Microsoft Office (Excel is key), and familiarity with programming (Python, SQL or similar) would be a plus.
  • Energy knowledge: Any experience working with energy data, consumption patterns, energy tariffs, or renewable energy solutions will be highly advantageous.
  • Attention to detail: A sharp eye for detail to ensure accurate data analysis and proposals.
  • Communication skills: You’ll need to be able to communicate technical concepts clearly and persuasively, whether it’s with customers or internal teams.
  • Problem-solving: A proactive mindset, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Organisational skills: Able to plan, prioritise and stay organised in a fast-moving environment.
