The Apprentice (Component Specialist) programme offers candidates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, complete theoretical learning, and qualify in the repair of specific components. Successful candidates will develop practical skills and knowledge to thrive in the heavy equipment industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all theoretical learning, practical training, and skills assessments.
  • Maintain logbooks, skills records, and training documentation.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and good workplace behaviour.
  • Meet KPIs and performance standards through effective self-management.
  • Operate and qualify on specific component repair.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / N3 with Pure Mathematics.
  • Grade 12 / N3 with English (minimum 50%).
  • N3/N4 with relevant theory (Motor, Diesel, or Electrical) – advantageous.
  • Technician for the World Certificate (T4W) – advantageous.
  • Computer literacy – advantageous.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and their usage.
  • Workshop/laboratory hand tool experience – advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle components and parts.
  • Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s licence (Code 10 will be an advantage).
