EThekwini Municipality is a metropolitan municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Created in 2000, it includes the coastal city of Durban and its surrounding towns and rural areas. The Zulu word eThekwini means “ocean and bay lagoon”. The landscape features a warm, subtropical climate, extensive beaches, hilly regions, gorges, and ravines. The municipality’s composition of urban, semi-urban, and rural environments presents a challenge for sustainable development.
Job Purpose
- Undergo training and perform work at the level of a Professional Engineer in all relevant technical areas of the low voltage (LV), medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) networks.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree (NQF Level 8) in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
- Valid motor vehicle driving license or be able to obtain one within 6 months from date of appointment.
- Registered as a Candidate Engineer in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) within 3 months of employment.
