The museum houses significant national heritage collections and features both permanent and temporary exhibitions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Museum’s communication and digital marketing strategies.
- Create high-quality content for the Museum’s platforms – including writing articles, producing short videos and developing posts for the website, social media and print material.
- Plan, compile and manage a monthly social media content calendar.
- Liaise with internal departments to gather information and communicate exhibitions, research, education programmes and events accurately.
- Coordinate communication, and reporting related to the Functions Committee.
- Assist with photographing and documenting Museum events for use across social media, the website, newsletters and promotional material.
- Support marketing and communication outreach initiatives, including planning, coordination and promotion of public programmes and events.
- Assist with media liaison, including drafting media releases and responding to media enquiries when required.
- Monitor media coverage and digital engagement, and compile basic reports as required.
- Provide general communication and marketing support to the Marketing Division as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of a National Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field is required, along with at least three (3) years relevant experience.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms.
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital content.
- Photography and video content creation skills. Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Computer literacy, including content management systems and design tools.
- An interest in heritage, museums, culture or the public sector will be an advantage. A valid driver’s license (Code B).
