Job Purpose To develop the Fine Art and Artefacts collection and lead an exhibition programme at the Art
Gallery through the alignment and monitoring the execution of the work programme.
Key Responsibility Areas • Aligns or defines key programme priorities with regards to maintaining standards and
complying with practices and principles associated with museology.
• Coordinates and controls taks/activities associated with controlling personnel
performance, productivity and discipline.
• Conducts research or partners with international and local academics during
collaborative studies.
• Develops and monitors the execution of applications and procedures associated with
the acquisition and exhibition of artworks and artefacts.
• Applies knowledge of Fine Arts and curatorial principles to assess, evaluate and
maintain acceptable standards in relation to the Art Gallery exhibition facilities.
• Disseminates information and knowledge on the Fine Arts field of study.
• Controls the administrative and reporting requirements associated with operational key
performance and result indicators.

Essential Requirements • Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Fine Arts or History of Art or any other related and
equivalent qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 4 years relevant experience in the Art Museum environment.
• Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements • Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Fine Arts or History of Art or any other related
and equivalent qualification.
• 5 years relevant experience in the Art Museum environment.
