EThekwini Municipality is a metropolitan municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Created in 2000, it includes the coastal city of Durban and its surrounding towns and rural areas. The Zulu word eThekwini means “ocean and bay lagoon”. The landscape features a warm, subtropical climate, extensive beaches, hilly regions, gorges, and ravines. The municipality’s composition of urban, semi-urban, and rural environments presents a challenge for sustainable development.
Job Purpose
- Performs driving and operator tasks/activities associated with the transportation of heavy plant, machinery and equipment to/from relevant work sites.
Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC-14)
- Hazchem DGP (Dangerous Goods and Passengers) training.
- Sludge Spillages training or to be obtained within 6 months.
- Heavy Plant Operator Certificate.
- 3 years relevant experience.
