Minimum Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (with Maths & Science)
  • N3 (with Electrical Trade Theory, Mathematics and Eng.Science) or NCV 4 qualification in Electrical.

Duties & Responsibilities

To learn in a practical work environment by means of following a plan that is aimed at the development of the skills required to be a qualified electrician.

Feltex apprenticeship programme focuses on enabling the skills development of employees and artisans within the Automotive Industry. This programme aims at providing the apprentice with the necessary knowledge, skills and proficiencies to succeed as an artisan in the manufacturing environment. In addition to artisan related knowledge, the learner will also be developed in areas such as customer service, team work and quality compliance.

  • Four (4) year apprenticeship contract with the MERSETA
  • Electrical Training at an Accredited training centre
  • On-the-job/plant experience
  • Further Education and Training (Technical Training) – provided you meet the requirement
  • Good learning orientation as well as the ability to apply acquired knowledge
  • Good problem solving ability
  • Must be prepared to travel and train away from home
  • Ability to work on his/her own and in a team environment
  • Good communication & decision making skills
  • Physically fit with good hand/eye coordination
  • Prepared to operate and maintain heavy industrial equipment
  • Prepared to work in heavy industrial environment
  • Prepared to complete technical training and technical college subjects
  • No fear of heights
