It is the largest producer of electricity in Africa. Eskom is wholly owned by the South African government, with the Minister of Electricity and Energy serving as the shareholder representative. Its operations are regulated by various bodies, including the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).

The Eskom Graduate in Training – Finance Programme offers an opportunity for Finance graduates to gain hands-on workplace experience while supporting the Finance Centre of Excellence (COE). The programme is based at Rosherville, under the Finance Division, on a fixed-term contract.
