Requirements and Expectations
Minimum Requirements
- ABET certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Basic knowledge of operating tools, equipment, and appliances used for general maintenance work.
- Familiarity with lawn care processes, pruning, and trimming techniques.
- Knowledge of general maintenance, including cleaning, painting, and basic repairs.
- Understanding of occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of general labour and assistant tasks as required.
- Load and offload materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Carry out garden and grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, pruning, and weed control.
- Assist in the maintenance of dam premises, canals, pipelines, servitudes, terrain, and buildings.
- Participate in painting and spraying activities (e.g., Roundup application).
- Assist in extinguishing veld fires and implementing safety measures.
- Ensure adherence to OHS Act regulations and workplace safety protocols.
- Perform other general duties as assigned by the supervisor.
