Job Description

To oversee Pre-melt Pot and Main Pot in accordance to company standards and operating parameters.

• Ensure correct pot levels at Pre-Melt and Main Pot
• Installation, Removal, Cleaning and Setting of air knives
• Removal of Top and Bottom Dross at Pre-Melt and Main Pot
• Ensure use of correct gas valves.
• Positioning and feeding of needle.
• Strip threading to the pot.
• Removal of metal scrap.
• Manual welding of strip-on-strip breaks.
• Control, monitor and cleaning of the launder
• Removal and replacement of Pot Rolls
• Pot Roll Setting and line run Adjustments.
• Monitor Main Pot and Pre-Melt Pot temperatures.
• Alloy Loading in correct ratios and Daily Stock take
• Inductor bubbling.
• Baffle plate maintenance and settings
• Furnace clean and assistance
• Reporting of operating parameters

Requirements

• Grade 12, with Maths & Science. Production/ Operations
• Minimum of five 3 – 5 years Industrial experience as operator desired.
