Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. is the state-owned electricity utility in South Africa, responsible for approximately 86% of the country’s electricity needs. Job description

• Provide technical consulting and investigating services.
• Provide and integrate engineering solutions or designs for asset creation.
• Develop and approve discipline specific philosophies, technical standards, procedures, work practises and specifications.
• Manage and conduct product, equipment, material, service and change impact evaluations.
• Provide input into discipline specific technology vision strategy and direction setting.
• Conduct discipline specific technology research.
• Participate in national and international technical forums.
• Provide professional technical leadership.

Minimum requirements

Qualification(s):

• Grade 12
• BTech / National Higher Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering NQF 7 with 360 credits

Experience:

• Experience in engineering planning and design, design integration and engineering management in relevant technologies for power stations. Substations, electrical network.
• Engineering planning and design, overhead line engineering design, substation design, distributed generation intergration, secondary plant engineering design, protection, telecommunication, measurement metering, civil design and control
• Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Technologist
