Job Advert Summary
To supervise a production shift, ensuring the plant operates safely and efficiently at all times, and to produce the required aggregate and sand products in accordance with specified quality standards, and to foster and create a motivated productive team.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or equivalent
- Supervisory or production management training is advantageous
- 3-year tertiary qualification. (Preferably Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering)
- 3 years’ experience in Aggregates plant operation
- Good understanding of Aggregates plant process flow
- Competent A Certificate
- Experience in planning, execution of shifts, job scheduling and performance monitoring
- Experience in maintenance of fixed plant equipment (e.g. feeders, belt conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, couplings, etc.) and mobile equipment
- Fault finding and problem solving on plant equipment and plant processes
- Experience and understanding of Aggregates plant equipment
- Competent A Certificate
- Experience in planning, execution of shifts, job scheduling and performance monitoring
- Ensuring consistent quality control of aggregates
- Managing, analysing shift reports and production data
- Monitoring and supervising of production team and activities
- Experience in basic maintenance of fixed plant equipment (e.g. feeders, belt conveyors, screens, pumps, gearboxes, couplings, etc.) and mobile equipment
- Fault finding and problem solving on plant equipment and plant processes
- Computer literate.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure production process run reliably and efficiently to ensure optimal production.
- Manage and coordinate quality product
- Experience in in leading a team and co-ordinating different departmental activities.
- Manage the Industrial relations issues on the operations under his control.
- Ability to enforce discipline and maintain productivity under pressure
- Manage and co-ordinate the Health; Safety and Quality programmes and issues on the operations under his control.
- Manage and maintain stock levels per product
