Internship description
The EPWP Internship Programme is aimed at empowering unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 35 by providing practical on-the-job training. Successful candidates will be placed at the Shipwreck Museum and the Stellenbosch Museum and will support daily library and administrative operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Be unemployed and willing to gain practical workplace experience
Duties and Responsibilities
- Filing and shelf reading of books
- General administration and coordination duties
- Report writing
- Event management and training support
- Asset verification
- Supply chain and human resources assistance
- Messenger and delivery duties
- Research assistance
- Sorting, scanning and unpacking library material
- Capturing and listing items on the SLIMS computer system
- Assisting with stock management
- Supporting affiliated libraries within the region
- Maintenance of library material and equipment
- Performing ad hoc duties within the Library Service
