Job Summary

Sea Harvest Corporation is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its Viking Airport Depot Cold Stores in Cape Town, Western Cape. This role combines operational management, occupational health and safety (OHS) compliance, facilities oversight, and workforce management to ensure the depot operates efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cold storage operations, supervising staff performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and coordinating human resources activities in partnership with the HR department

The Site Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring that the Viking Airport Depot functions effectively as part of Sea Harvest’s supply chain and distribution network. The position requires a hands-on manager who can balance operational efficiency, health and safety compliance, employee management, and administrative responsibilities within a fast-paced logistics and cold storage environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cold Store Operations Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Airport Depot Cold Stores.
  • Ensure efficient storage, handling, and movement of products.
  • Monitor operational performance and productivity levels.
  • Support the Cold Store Supervisor in achieving operational targets.
  • Ensure stock handling procedures meet company and quality standards.
  • Coordinate activities to maintain smooth warehouse and depot operations.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management

  • Manage and enforce Occupational Health and Safety requirements across the site.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and legal regulations.
  • Monitor workplace safety practices and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety awareness among employees.
  • Ensure incident reporting and safety documentation are accurately maintained.

Staff Management and Leadership

  • Supervise and support operational staff and supervisors.

  • Maintain operational records and documentation.
