About eThekwini Municipality

EThekwini Municipality is a metropolitan municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Created in 2000, it includes the coastal city of Durban and its surrounding towns and rural areas. The Zulu word eThekwini means “ocean and bay lagoon”. The landscape features a warm, subtropical climate, extensive beaches, hilly regions, gorges, and ravines. The municipality’s composition of urban, semi-urban, and rural environments presents a challenge for sustainable development.

Job Purpose

• Applies academic knowledge to develop the Anthropology/History/Sociology and artefacts collection and lead and exhibition programme at the Local History Museums through alignment and monitoring the execution of the work programme.

Essential Requirements

• Postgraduate Diploma (NQF Level 8) in one of the following fields Anthropology and/or History and Sociology.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 4 Years relevant experience.
