EThekwini Municipality is a metropolitan municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Created in 2000, it includes the coastal city of Durban and its surrounding towns and rural areas. The Zulu word eThekwini means “ocean and bay lagoon”. The landscape features a warm, subtropical climate, extensive beaches, hilly regions, gorges, and ravines. The municipality’s composition of urban, semi-urban, and rural environments presents a challenge for sustainable development.
Job Purpose
- Responsible for conducting forensic investigations pertaining to incidents of fraud, corruption and maladministration in the affairs of eThekwini Municipality, Municipal Entities i.e. Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) and Durban Marine Theme Park (uShaka Marine World) from inception to conclusion using fraud examination processes that includes among other things, acquisition of evidence, reporting, testifying to findings and assisting in fraud detection and prevention.
Essential Requirements
- Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Forensic Investigations or Law or Auditing or Policing or equivalent.
- Valid motor vehicle driving license.
- 3 years experience in fraud investigations.
