Job description
We are looking for a Fish Monger to join our team! As a Fish Monger, you’ll prepare and present various types of fish, keep displays attractive and stocked, manage inventory, and maintain cleanliness. You’ll provide excellent customer service, follow health and safety regulations, and use equipment like knives and scales. This role requires physical stamina, seafood knowledge, attention to detail, and flexible hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.
- Skillfully fillet and prepare different types of fish for sale.
- Keep display cases visually appealing and well-stocked to attract customers.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure availability of fresh seafood.
- Provide exceptional service, assisting customers with their selections and answering any questions.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area at all times.
- Follow all safety and health regulations to ensure the highest standards of food safety.
- Use and maintain tools and equipment such as knives and scales safely and efficiently.
- Work with other team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements
- Matric
- Experience: Sales, Fish Filleter, Fishmonger
- Within 25km from job
- Clear criminal record
