Ivanplats is a South African subsidiary of Canadian mining company Ivanhoe Mines, operating the Platreef palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project near Mokopane in South Africa’s Limpopo province. The company was formerly known as Ivanhoe Nickel & Platinum Ltd. before changing its name to Ivanplats Limited in 2012. It then changed its name to Ivanhoe Mines in 2013. The current Ivanplats is a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines.

Internship Requirements

Applicants must:

• Hold a relevant NQF Level 7 degree from a recognised South African tertiary institution.
• Be South African citizens residing in Ivanplats-recognised mining communities.
• Be medically fit and willing to work underground and on surface.
• Provide a letter from their Tribal Authority or Ward Councillor confirming residence.

Key Duties and Learning Outcomes

Interns will:

• Participate in mentoring and career development programmes.

• Assist teams with key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
