Main Focus Areas
Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)
- Maintain professional conduct and standards at all times in accordance with the SANC / Job Standards / Hospital Policies in a Surgical Ward environment
- Effective Risk prevention management
- Promote and maintain good working and inter-personal relationships with Management / patients / staff / visitors / doctors and colleagues
- Attend handover of report at shift commencement
- Practice the principles of infection prevention and all Standard precautions
- Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by supervisors
- Provide and supervise the delivery of evidence based nursing care
- Ensure that all patients have an appropriate nursing care plan
- Communicate with Health Care Practitioners regarding any change in health status
- Mentoring and supervision of junior healthcare providers and support staff
Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife
- Relevant qualification and experience within a specialist area
- Advanced Computer Literacy
- Relevant experience in antenatal / postnatal and Labour Ward necessary.
- Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
