South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa) is a public company wholly owned by the State, responsible for undertaking and promoting research and development in the field of nuclear energy and radiation sciences and technology.

The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa) is a public company wholly owned by the State, responsible for undertaking and promoting research and development in the field of nuclear energy and radiation sciences and technology. Its headquarters are located at Pelindaba, approximately 25km west of Pretoria. Necsa’s primary mandate is to develop, utilise, and manage nuclear technology for national and regional socio-economic development in South Africa.

Necsa’s WIL Programme aims to support N6 graduates from TVET Colleges who need practical training to complete their qualifications and gain workplace experience in Engineering fields.

Requirements

Unemployed South African citizens aged 18–35 who have completed their N6 qualification are invited to apply.

You must submit a confirmation letter from your TVET College stating:

  • You have completed the theoretical component of your N6 studies
  • You require practical experience to graduate

Eligible fields of study include:

N6 Electrical Engineering

  • Electrician
  • Instrumentation

N6 Mechanical Engineering

  • Fitting and Turning
  • Plater / Boilermaker
  • Welder

N6 Civil Engineering

  • Plumber
  • Carpenter

N6 Automotive Engineering

  • Motor Mechanic
  • Auto Electrician
  • Diesel Mechanic
