Minimum Requirements
- Diploma/degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Registration with the Professions Council: Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse.
Experience
- A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Inherent requirement of the job:
- Assist with after-hour, night duty and weekend duties as per Nursing Management allocations in the hospital, when required.
Competencies (knowledge/skills)
- Principles of Management: Supervisory, leadership, problem solving decision making, public speaking, conflict resolution and interpersonal/communication skills, the ability to function independently as well as part of the multi-disciplinary team and have Good organisational skills and the ability to function under pressure.
- Knowledge of Nursing legislation related legal and ethical nursing practices and framework.
- Human Resources, Labour relations legislation and Financial Management, including computer literacy (i.e. Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
