The purpose of this position is to manufacture and process products and/or oversee operations within the Condensed Milk Packaging Department, ensuring compliance with production targets, quality standards, food safety requirements, and efficient plant performance.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4
  • Tertiary qualification in Food technology/Science, Quality Management advantageous
  • Familiar with Automotive machinery/systems  SCADA
  • Computer literacy (Intermediate)
  • Business English: Fluent
  • 3 – 5yrs relevant experience (FMCG/Food Production) in applying job related concepts, techniques, and processes at the required level
  • Work shifts/weekends/public holidays

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure quality assurance

  • Apply quality assurance to the process and ensure integrity of the Intermediate product
  • Control inputs and outputs of the manufacturing and/or process
  • Ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) are in place
  • Maintain good housekeeping (5S)

Conduct first-line maintenance and inspections

  • Ensure correct use of equipment
  • Complete weekly maintenance schedule as plan.

Manufacture and process product

  • Follow correct standard operating procedure (SOP)
  • Ensure correct cleaning in place (CIP)
  • Ensure Batch verifications are done
  • Manage Usage Variance of the Mixes

Manage staff

  • Ensure optimal utilization of staff
  • Apply consistent discipline
  • Train and develop staff
  • Conduct meetings and ensure effective communication to all
  • Liaise and communicate with management in all departments
  • Provide leadership and training to staff members within the department
  • Set objectives, manage and measure performance of team
  • Do problem solving within the shift
