Rand Water is a large South African water utility that provides bulk potable water and sanitation services to over 11 million people in Gauteng and surrounding provinces. It is the largest water utility in Africa and one of the largest in the world. Rand Water draws water from sources like the Vaal River and the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, purifies it, and supplies it to metropolitan and local municipalities, mines, and industries. It manages a vast network of 3,500 km of pipelines and 60 reservoirs.

Job Advert Summary

• Reporting to the Process coordinator, the successful candidate will manage all electrical, mechanical pumping and water quality activities at Zwartkopjes and Satellite stations on shift basis.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Diploma/Degree in Water Care Management/ Equivalent.
• Class V Process Controller (advantage).
• 5 years of plant experience.
• 2 years’ experience in a Supervisory Capacity.
• 2 years HV electrical switching experience desired.
• Code B driver’s license with the ability to pass Rand Water K53 test.
• Computer literacy will serve as an advantage.

Primary Duties

• Achieve quality control standards.
• Manage resources and monitor assets at booster stations-ordinate requirements in conjunction with coordinator or SPS, Plant availability and reliability.
• Manage and control energy consumption.
• Monitor reservoir levels.
• Control labour cost and transport.
• Apply statutory and policy requirements required by Rand Water.
• Maintain sound Human resource practices.
• Participate in project activities where required.
• Monitor installation of new equipment.
