The City of Ekurhuleni is a metropolitan municipality in the Gauteng province of South Africa, located east of Johannesburg. It was formed in 2000 through the amalgamation of the former East Rand region. Its name means “place of peace” in the Tsonga language. Covering 1,975 square kilometers, Ekurhuleni is one of the most densely populated areas in the country. It is strategically located as a transportation hub, home to a vast network of roads, railways, and O.R. Tambo International Airport.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Information Technology or relevant equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in a supply chain management environment
Core Responsibilities
- Specialise in, report on and advise on supply chain management related activities for the division
- Responsible for market research to create reliable forecasts, guide users to improve the accuracy of revenue forecasts, align inventory levels with peaks and troughs in demand or product
- Support the supply chain management processes, ensuring that demand management, procurement of goods remain in line with relevant policies
- Contribute to the effective functioning of the supply chain management related activities such as procurement, inventory control, rate setting and outsourcing etc.
- Ensure that completed work adhere to governance and legislative requirements
- Adhere to specified standards, policies and SOPs to prevent and reduce wastage on financial resources and escalate associated risk
- Contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships and enables exceptional customer service and ethical conduct by being a good example
