SA Metal Group is South Africa’s oldest and one of its largest metal recycling companies. Founded in 1919 by Wolfe Barnett, it has remained a family-owned business for four generations. SA Metal Group purchases, collects, processes, and recycles both ferrous metals (iron and steel) and non-ferrous metals (including aluminum, copper, zinc, brass, and lead). The company acquires its scrap metal from various sources, including industrial companies, factories, scrap metal dealers, private individuals, and demolition projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Administration and managing of customer price sheet
• Maintain price changes and distribution thereof
• Maintaining and issuing of contract numbers
• Preparing and maintaining financial reports and records as required by the Finance Department
• Interest calculations
• Reconciliations of debtor accounts and inventory reports
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the Finance Manager
• Provide general administrative support to the Finance team

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of an NQF Level 6 qualification (Diploma) in Finance or equivalent
• 3 – 5 years working experience in Accounting (up to Trial Balancing)
• Computer literate – MS Office, internet and e-mail – Excel is compulsory
• ACCPAC experience highly preferable
• Knowledge of accounting practices, principles and reporting of financial data
• Performing complex mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a multi-tasking environment
