Johannesburg Water (SOC) Ltd is a municipal entity, wholly owned by the City of Johannesburg (CoJ), responsible for providing water and sanitation services to the city’s residents. The company manages a vast network of infrastructure, including water pipes, reservoirs, water towers, and six wastewater treatment works. The entity is currently facing significant challenges related to aging infrastructure, high demand, and critically low reservoir levels, which have resulted in ongoing water shortages and crises in various parts of the city.

Johannesburg Water is offering two internship opportunities designed to provide practical workplace exposure to unemployed graduates between the ages of 18 and 35. The programme is structured to build essential skills, support professional development, and enable graduates to gain industry-relevant experience in a public utility environment.

Internships run for 24 months, and no accommodation or transport support will be provided. Preference will be given to women and persons with disabilities in accordance with Johannesburg Water’s Employment Equity Plan.
