The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) is a South African public entity established in 2010 to oversee, regulate, and invest in the social housing sector. It operates under the Department of Human Settlements and is governed by the Social Housing Act, 16 of 2008.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the verification of information submitted by reporting entities against supporting documents
- Support the preparation of individual assessment reports
- Support the issuance of compliance notices and declarations.
- Assist in preparing compliance monitoring reports
- Assist in assessing submissions made by reporting entities to address compliance conditions
- Support the development of remedial action plans and capacity development
- Participate in internal investigations and diagnostic assessments to identify areas of non-compliance.
- Acknowledge receipt of documents and update the compliance database
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in:
- Accounting Sciences, or
- Accounting
- Internal Auditing,
- Financial management, or
- Management Accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to verify data accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Relevant computer literacy with Microsoft Office understanding (MS Excel, Word & powerpoint)
