Job Overview

Nurture Health is seeking a compassionate, accountable, and patient-centred Registered Nurse to join its interdisciplinary rehabilitation team in George, Western Cape. Reporting to the Nursing Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care, supporting patients through their rehabilitation journey, and helping them achieve the best possible level of independence.

This role is ideal for a Professional Nurse who thrives in a dynamic clinical environment and is passionate about rehabilitation, patient advocacy, and collaborative healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Nursing Care

  • Execute comprehensive nursing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ clinical status and rehabilitation progress.
  • Identify changes in patient conditions and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing interventions.

Team Coordination & Leadership

  • Allocate and delegate nursing activities within the unit.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff and caregivers.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary clinical discussions and decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient safety.

Patient Safety & Rehabilitation Support

  • Administer medications accurately and safely.
  • Manage emergency equipment and respond effectively to clinical emergencies.
  • Provide wound care and continence management.
  • Support safe discharge planning and patient transitions.
  • Encourage patient participation in rehabilitation programmes.

Patient & Family Education

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and rehabilitation goals.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance during recovery.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting.

Minimum Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • Proven experience caring for medically complex patients in a demanding clinical environment.
  • Strong clinical assessment and nursing leadership abilities.
  • Excellent delegation, communication, and care-planning skills.
  • Ability to influence and contribute to interdisciplinary clinical decisions.
